Quotes and wine: the second edition

Almost three years ago now, we did a a post on this blog about some of the most popular sayings inspired by wine. Since it was a hit, we’ve decided to do a second version, this time with some famous quotes based around wine. Writers, philosophers, and even scientists have all had it at the front of their minds at some point.

Here are some examples!

“Language is wine upon the lips” – Virginia Woolf.

“Where there is no wine there is no love” – Euripides.

“In wine there’s truth” – Pliny the Elder.

“Wine is the only artwork you can drink” -Luis Fernando Olaverri.

“Wine is sunlight, held together by water” – Galileo Galilei.

“A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world” – Louis Pasteur.

“Music is the wine that fills the cup of silence” – Ropert Fripp.

“God made only water, but man-made wine” – Victor Hugo.

“He who knows how to taste does not drink wine but savours secrets” – Salvador Dalí.
