La Más Bonita: Get the Island Feel Without Leaving Valencia

Talking about La Más Bonita means talking about good food and good taste. Their three restaurants in Valencia (Patacona, Ruzafa and Chiringuito) are all more than proof of this. All three feature an island vibe, but you can really feel it at La Más Bonita Patacona, with its aesthetics reminiscent of the typical houses on the Balearic island of Formentera, with rustic construction, imperfect walls, exposed beams, and very high ceilings: a typically Mediterranean ambience.

Given the setting, it’s no surprise that the food served at La Más Bonita is pure Mediterranean, too. With the kitchen open all day from 8 a.m. until 12:30 a.m., it’s ideal for spending an entire day Mediterranean style. You can start off with scrambled eggs or the fresh local fruit that arrives every day from nearby El Puig, then at lunchtime move on to a sandwich made with Iberian pork shoulder, before finishing off in evening with croquettes, nachos, or their famous club sandwich. The extensive menu has a wide range of options perfect for any time of day, with highlights including toasted baguettes with a variety of creative toppings, scrambled eggs, and freshly sliced fruit. This season also brings some new additions to the menu, such as the puff pastry with mascarpone cheese, vegan lasagna, and bulgur wheat salad—Mediterranean dishes with a twist.

The choices don’t end there, however. If you go to La Más Bonita in the late afternoon, one of the best specialties you can try are the homemade cakes. There are 17 different varieties in total, which they make every day at their bakery in Ruzafa. This firm commitment to fresh, homemade baked goods treats La Más Bonita’s customers to a sweet break with an island feel, without even having to leave the city.

So, with all those indulgent options, what’s their approach to wine like? That’s easy: very thoughtful and handled with special care. They lean toward organic and local Valencian wines, with a wine list that has something for every palate, from the most demanding to those looking for something a bit simpler.

We can’t end this post without mentioning La Más Bonita Chiringuito, a beach bar located just in front of the La Más Bonita restaurant on La Patacona beach. Open from May to October, it celebrated its fourth birthday this year and serves soft drinks, smoothies, frappés, and a wide range of cocktails, in addition to the standout dishes served in the restaurant, such as salads and the homemade cakes. This is definitely a more relaxed spot for enjoying an island vibe and the sea breeze at a slower pace. Tempted to give it a try?
