Most, the Wine & Cava International Film Festival, will be running from today until November 17th in the Penedès region. This year is already the ninth edition of this international event that brings together the best audiovisual productions related to winemaking, wine, and cava. The festival also showcases high-quality filmmaking with screenings of movies by talented directors that have not been released commercially.
Taking place in the Penedès, and since 2016, in Priorat as well (two regions in Catalonia with a long tradition of winemaking and several wine tourism attractions), the festival aims to celebrate arts and wine culture through audiovisual creation, as well as to approach winemaking from all possible angles, while promoting values such as quality, diversity, and relationship with the land.
We at Jean Leon have always been keen to get involved in this festival and, like every year, we will be incorporating activities at our winery. This time, on Saturday, November 9th, we will be hosting an evening of film and wine with a very special guest: Assumpta Serna. The actress and 2019 Most Honorary Prize winner will be at the winery and will speak to attendees following the screening of one of her latest films, the comedy ¡He matado a mi marido! (I Killed My Husband!) (Francisco Lupini, USA, 2018).
Moreover, to celebrate this special event, we will finish with a tasting of a selection of our single vineyard wines accompanied by cheeses from Xerigots. For those of you who’d like to know which wines we’ll be tasting, here they are: the new vintages of Jean Leon Vinya Gigi Chardonnay and Vinya Le Havre Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva, the 2017 and 2013; Jean Leon Vinya Palau 2015; and the winery’s latest addition, the new vintage of Jean Leon Vinya La Scala Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2013 Gran Reserva.
