In 1969, following many long years spent perfecting the winemaking method, the first Cabernet Sauvignon to be produced in Spain was born. It came from the “La Scala” vineyard, 8 Ha of the poorest, stoniest and best-drained land on the pago, and only produced in years when the climate is especially favourable.
This wine is considered to be a “wine for laying down”. Given its structure and complexity, it is aged in French and American oak for 2 years and then for a minimum of 3 years in the bottle.
Annual production: between 18,000 and 35,000 Bordeaux style bottles and a limited number of imperials.
On special occasions, Catalan artists of acclaimed prestige produce works to adorn the bottles of these wines, thus creating unique collector items.

Jean Leon conceived the Terrasola wines as wines that should express the character and singularity of Catalan soils for making great wines.
The name Terrasola appeared in manuscripts dating as far back as the Middle Ages, and always had a special significance. Terrasola comes from the Catalan word “Terrassola”, which means small terrace. It is on these terraces where, since time immemorial, vines have been cultivated on the mountainsides of the Penedés valley. Terrasola is a tribute to these vineyards and to this special way of understanding vines and the land.
The wines, the best of two worlds: These wines are made combining international and local grape varieties in a single wine.
International varieties: such as Chardonnay, Syrah and Muscat, perfectly adapted to the Mediterranean climate, they provide elegance, structure and complexity.
Local varieties: such as Garnacha Blanca, Cariñena and Parellada, cultivated on these lands for hundreds of years, they provide personality and typicity.
